Content Engine

Terms of service

Last updated: 3 July 2026

1. Who we are

Content Engine ("we", "us") provides a subscription service that writes, illustrates and delivers blog articles for our customers' websites. These terms govern your use of the website and the service. By subscribing, or by requesting a free sample article, you agree to them.

2. The service

Each subscription covers one website and provides the number of articles per week stated on your chosen plan. Articles are produced automatically using a combination of editorial systems and artificial intelligence, guided by a profile of your business built from your website. We deliver articles by the method you select in your customer portal (WordPress publishing, content API, webhook, email or embed widget).

We aim for consistent, high-quality output, but content generation is not an exact science. We do not guarantee specific search-engine rankings, traffic levels or business outcomes.

3. Free sample

We offer one free sample article per website, ever. The free sample is provided as-is, for evaluation. We may refuse or withdraw the free sample where we detect automated, abusive or fraudulent use.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You confirm you are authorised to commission content for the website you sign up.
  • You are responsible for reviewing published content and remain the publisher of your own website. If an article is not right for your business, you can edit it, unpublish it, or switch on approval mode in your portal so nothing goes live without your say so.
  • Credentials you provide for delivery (for example a WordPress application password) must be ones you are entitled to issue. We store them encrypted and use them only to deliver your content.

5. Payment, plan changes and cancellation

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown inclusive of VAT.
  • You can upgrade or downgrade at any time; changes are prorated on your next invoice.
  • You can cancel at any time from your portal. Cancellation stops your next renewal; the service continues to the end of the paid period. We do not offer partial-month refunds except where required by law.
  • If a payment fails we will let you know and retry. While an account is unpaid we may pause new articles.

6. Ownership of content

Once an article has been delivered under a paid subscription, all rights in it belong to you. You can edit, republish and reuse it without restriction, including after cancellation. We may keep copies for delivery, backup and record-keeping purposes.

7. Acceptable use

The service may not be used for websites containing unlawful content, or to generate content intended to deceive, defame or infringe the rights of others. We may suspend or end a subscription that breaches this section, with a prorated refund of any unused period.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost opportunities.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant we will email the address on your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions about them can be sent to us through the contact details in your customer portal.
